unblot user guide
unblot connects to your Klaviyo account, finds the unengaged profiles that are pushing you into a higher Klaviyo pricing tier, and lets you suppress them in one click so your next bill is lower. This guide covers installing it, using it, what data it touches, and how to remove it.
Installing unblot

Start the install
Open unblot from the Klaviyo app marketplace and click Install, or go to unblot.com and click Connect Klaviyo. Both routes lead to the same place.

Create your unblot account
Sign in with Google or an email address. If you are already signed in to unblot this step is skipped.

Authorize on Klaviyo
Klaviyo shows you exactly which permissions unblot is asking for. Review them and click Allow. Choosing Deny cancels the install safely — nothing is connected and no data is read. You can start again at any time.

Pick the account
If you manage several Klaviyo accounts, the account you are signed in to on Klaviyo is the one that gets connected. Repeat the steps above to add more accounts.
If the install does not complete — for example if you click Deny on the Klaviyo authorization screen — you will see a page explaining what happened, with a button to start the connection again. Nothing is connected and no data is read unless you click Allow.
Using unblot

Run a scan
Scanning is free and read-only. unblot counts your active (billable) profiles, groups them by how recently they engaged, works out which Klaviyo pricing tier you are on, and shows what you would save by suppressing the unengaged ones. Nothing is changed in your Klaviyo account by a scan.

Review the report
Profiles are bucketed as Active, Warm, Cooling, Cold and Dead. Cold means last opened 181–365 days ago; Dead means never opened, or no activity for over a year. The savings figure is the difference between your current tier and the tier you would drop to — so it only shows a number when suppression would actually cross a pricing boundary.

Suppress
Suppression is always an explicit action you take per account. Anyone who has placed an order recently is excluded automatically, so your buyers are never suppressed. Suppressing tells Klaviyo to stop sending marketing to those profiles — it does not delete them, and all profile data, history and events stay in Klaviyo.

Undo if you change your mind
Every suppression batch appears in your Suppression history with an Undo button, which unsuppresses exactly the profiles in that batch. Note that Klaviyo blocks re-suppressing a profile within 90 days of it being unsuppressed.

Keep it running
Set your Klaviyo renewal day and unblot will time its monthly re-scan so suppressions land before you are billed, not after. Paid plans can suppress automatically after each scheduled scan.
What data unblot uses
unblot only accesses what it needs to size your list and act on your instruction. It never sees or stores your Klaviyo password: the connection uses Klaviyo's OAuth, and you can revoke it at any time.

Data is stored in AWS Sydney (ap-southeast-2). Klaviyo access tokens are encrypted before storage. Full detail is in our privacy policy and security overview.
Managing and removing the connection
Disconnect one account: go to Settings → Connected accounts → Disconnect. unblot revokes its access token with Klaviyo, so the authorization is removed from your Klaviyo account, and deletes the data it held for that account.
Delete your unblot account entirely: Settings → Delete account. This revokes every connected Klaviyo authorization, cancels any subscription, and erases your data.
Revoke from Klaviyo instead: you can remove unblot's access from within Klaviyo at any time. unblot detects this on its next call and marks the connection as disconnected.
Suppressed profiles stay suppressed in Klaviyo after you remove unblot — suppression is a change to your Klaviyo account, not something unblot holds. Undo any suppression before disconnecting if you want it reversed.
